Happy Anniversary!

To us that is. Today marks ten years since the Templeton Gate went online, both the main site (originally [and still] on Tripod, but also now under a different hosting service at the .net address) and the forums (first on ezboard, now on Yuku). I started my reworking of the site too late to meet this deadline (yeah, like years too late!), but I keep plugging away, and now have about half of the pages converted to the new design. Hopefully I can report the job is complete in a couple of weeks.

Dream a Little Dream
7/17/10; 10:20am CDT - Galen

I've just uploaded a short but positive review for Christopher Nolan's new film, Inception. As far as updating pages to the new design, I've done about 15-20% I guess, but I'm not going to list those done so far, but will make an announcement (hopefully soon) that all are complete. I've been working somewhat in alphabetical order, although I have skipped over a few that I need to spend more time making changes. I know I won't make the anniversary deadline, now just ten days away, but I'll make every effort to do as much as I can.

Airbenders and Waterbenders and Firebenders...Oh My!
7/4/10; 10:40pm CDT - Galen

After a few more tweaks of the layout Alex and I seem to be in agreement that it looks good, so I'll start in on converting as many pages as I can tomorrow. Today I worked on ekt's (also known as tek ni) reviews of the new M. Night Shyamalan film The Last Airbender, as well as updating his review of the TV series "Avatar: The Last Airbender" to the new format.

Update
6/16/10; 5:45pm CDT - Galen

Pardon the mess, we're under construction. I've been promising for years to revamp the site and I've finally started to do so. Yeah, I know I haven't written many reviews for entirely too long, but that's going to change soon. But first I have to reformat all the existing pages, and that's going to take some time. Hopefully I will get it done by July 27, which will mark the tenth anniversary of the site. Not all of the links on the new pages work yet, and most that do will take you to the old pages for now, so until everything is done you can still go to the old Mainpage and follow links from there.

2001: A Space Odyssey
6/16/10; 5:40pm CDT - Galen

This is the first of the review pages updated in the new format. Only minor changes were made to the original article first posted on July 27, 2000.

The Road
2/21/10; 10:30am CST - Galen

I finally saw The Road yesterday and have just uploaded my review. Chilling, horrific, depressing, but at the same time quite inspirational (to me at least).
